Matt Simpson, who is this guy…Where did he come from… What has he done… What is he doing… What does he want to do… what does he like to do? These are ALL possibly the most important questions of your lives right now, and luckily for you, it is time to hear the answers, which is all this page is about. Some Details:
Timeline:
Toddler -
- I was born in a small town Anamosa, IA, April 13, 1988. I was the 4th and last of the family, some people call that the baby, but I choose to use a different term. - I was raised in the country on a farm and grew up being best friends with my brother, Zac, and my other brother from another mother, David. Every day we would go on adventures and get in trouble for being too muddy and messy. It was a child’s dream.
- We moved to Rock Island, IL when I was in the 1st grade range, and was homeschooled until 2nd grade. - In 4th grade we moved to Des Moines, IA, which is where I think I found my passion at soccer. - Then we moved back to Rock Island to continue renovating an old Victorian Home. - Life in high school was amazing, I miss those days already, and it hasn’t even been 2 years yet.
- Graduated from Rocky in ’06 and moved to Chicago. - Went to the Institute of Art – Schaumburg, and got a job as a PHP Web Developer at Wencel Hess Design. - Realized that the institute of art was a complete waste of my time knowing that I already knew more than the graduates knew, in a development perspective. I then started working full time at Wencel Hess. - Midway through the summer of ’07 I started a intense search for a new job and hundreds of phone calls and multiple interviews later, I finally got one! J - I then moved to St. Charles, MO (right next to St. Louis) and am renting space in my sister’s basement (which is such a joy everyday – seriously) until I get enough money for a house or condo, which will be ‘ballpark’ less than a year from now. - I am one of the lead PHP Programmers in the IT Product Development dept. at Customer Direct, which is an amazing feeling to have the kind of job that I do, I truly feel blessed and thank God for giving me the strength to fight through all of the struggles I went through last year. - And here I am, typing away my bio.
